By now we all know how acid forming our Western diet is and that no disease can thrive in an alkaline environment. This is the first and MOST important step to be taken when trying to follow a more healthy lifestyle.

There is no simpler, cheaper and more natural way to do this, other than by using Sodium Bicarbonate or Bicarbonate of Soda.

It can be used to heal: acne, cancer, colds, flu, acid reflux and has many household uses too.

I have already started with this, but wasn’t doing it 4 times per day. Perhaps I should look at increasing the frequency too.

If you would like to know more then read the below article which was published by Natural News.

Happy alkalizing!

The connection between fungus and cancer

The groundbreaking work of Mark Sircus, Ac., OMD and Dr. Simonchini, an oncologist in Rome, Italy, has shown the tremendous potential of sodium bicarbonate. Dr. Simonchini originally made the connection between fungal infections and cancer proliferation. He realized that when a tumor was flushed with baking soda (which is anti-fungal), it shrank and completely disappeared within days. Mark Sircus takes this idea one step further, believing that baking soda can be ingested as well with remarkable results. Sircus feels that cancer is a complex disease and healing goes beyond simply targeting the tumor -- the body needs to be brought into harmony with breathing techniques, exercise, sun exposure and massage along with bicarbonate therapy. A striking example of success is Vernon Johnston who cured stage IV prostate cancer with this protocol. His story can be found here.

Protect against colds and influenza

Cancer is not the only ailment that is healed by baking soda. Contagious illnesses like colds and influenza also respond well to sodium bicarbonate. In 1922, a small booklet was published extolling the healing virtues of this simple powder. Edward R. Hays, MD said at the time:

"In 1918 and 1919 while fighting the 'Flu' with the U. S. Public Health Service it was brought to my attention that rarely any one who had been thoroughly alkalinized with bicarbonate of soda contracted the disease, and those who did contract it, if alkalinized early, would invariably have mild attacks. I have since that time treated all cases of 'Cold,' Influenza and LaGrippe by first giving generous doses of Bicarbonate of Soda, and in many, many instances within 36 hours the symptoms would have entirely abated."

Recommended dosage for colds and influenza:

On the first day, consume a total of six doses of half a teaspoon of baking soda in one cup of water. Take at two hour intervals.

Continue the same protocol on the second day, but reduce to four doses.

On the third day, consume only two doses -- one in the morning and another at night.

Continue thereafter with one dose in the morning until illness is cured.

Additional benefits

Not only helpful with disease, baking soda has a broad spectrum of use. It is also good for:

- Clearing acne
- Cleansing hair and removing build up
- Detoxifying radiation poisoning
- Acid reflux
- Cleaning teeth
- Insect bites
- Boosting laundry detergent
- Removing dirt and residue off fresh fruits and vegetables
- Household cleaning and deodorizing
- Unclogging drains when combined with vinegar

For pennies per use, sodium bicarbonate really is an economical workhorse. Considering the average conventional cancer treatment costs over $350,000, baking soda provides an inexpensive, safe and effective alternative. Whether contending with the threat of cancer, infectious disease, acne or simply seeking a environmentally friendly cleansing agent, baking soda is a natural champion.

 Hugely beneficial linseeds/flaxseeds

Golden linseeds (also known as flaxseeds) are powerhouses of nutrition. They have a subtle nutty, slightly earthy flavour and are a cheap superfood that everyone can include in their diet. They are available whole or - for easier absorbtion - split, ground or as linseed or flaxseed oil.
I particularly love the oil, as it is such a fantastic natural skin moisturiser. Drink a couple of spoonfuls a day, by either adding it to a juice or smoothie, mixing it into milk for your cereal, or making a quick salad dressing.
Linseeds are the richest plant source of omega 3 fats, which are essential for a healthy brain, heart, joints and immune system.Due to the high content of plant chemicals known as phytoestrogens, linseeds have been called nature's answer to hormone replacement therapy. Phytoestrogens are naturally occurring forms of the female hormone oestrogen and are found in certain foods. They help to either reduce high levels of oestrogens or to boost low levels. This can have a positive impact on the unpleasant effects of the menopause, such as flushing and night sweats.
There is ongoing research into the benefits of including phytoestrogens in diets aimed at preventing cancer. With a history of colon cancer in my family I am keen to keep my colon healthy. The high-fibre content of linseeds can help.
A good way to get the best from them is to soak them first. Put one heaped desertspoonful of seeds into a glass, cover with water and leave overnight. Add the swollen seeds and water to a drink such as fruit juice or a smoothie, or to your cereal or yogurt, or drink it on its own. You can eat linseeds in this way every day. They are a good cure for constipation, but avoid eating the seeds if you have bowel problems, such as diverticulitis.
Alternatively, you can grind linseeds in a pestle and mortar or coffee grinder before adding them to food. Never cook with linseeds or their oil - as the heat will render them unstable. To keep them fresh, store airtight in the fridge.

Irresponsible Behaviour
Last week I had two ladies tell me that they have had to undergo a mastectomy, even though they had been going for their regular mammograms. In both cases the mammogram failed to pick up their cancer. The purpose of this letter is in the hope of saving more ladies from the same fate.
I consider it shocking that despite all the hype of “October Breast Cancer Month”, ladies are not being told about thermography as an added option when it comes to routine breast cancer screening, which has no radiation and is painless.
Thermography cannot diagnose cancer, but then, neither can mammography do this. Thermography works from a very young age and is excellent with dense, fibrocystic breasts and works well with implants, which are all acknowledged by radiologists to be weak points of mammography. Despite the fact that thermography detects suspicious activity before a tumour has formed & in some cases up to 6 years before a mammogram shows up as suspicious, it does not replace mammography. They work together, but thermography fills this gap and perhaps then there will be fewer mastectomies. Women should be empowered with this knowledge.

I sent this to the Witness out of sheer frustration after having asked them a while ago, including the editor, to do a feature about thermography with no luck.

Change your pH to fight disease

The first step to being healthy is to change the pH of one's body. Our western diets are highly acidic. No disease can live in an alkaline environment.
Now, how does one do that? You have a choice of using bicarbonate of soda, lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. But lemons and vinegar are so acidic I hear you say. Yes, they are, but the moment they come into contact with the gastric juices of the stomach, they turn to alkaline. I think most of you have heard that having a glass of water in the morning and before bed with some lemon in it is healthy. Now you know why.
I personally prefer apple cider vinegar mixed in some water, which I sip on all day. Don't buy the common one on the supermarket shelves. You need to look for the brown coloured one that has "gunge" in it. This brown, stringy stuff is called "the mother" and that is the active ingredient. Therefore don't buy the filtered one.
My Mom and my business partner, who have been on blood pressure tablets for years have both been told by their doctors that they no longer need to take their tablets on a daily basis as both their pressures have started to come down! This since they started drinking apple cider vinegar. I lost 10kgs since I started drinking the ACV. I have also heard that it is excellent for type 2 diabetes. Do the test yourself.  Take your blood sugar count after your normal meal. Next time round, drink a glass of ACV about 30 minutes before your meal.  Take your blood sugar count after the meal and see the difference..
The expensive "alkalising powders" that one can buy are basically bicarbonate of soda, which does the same thing. So, for a real fast alkalising drink mix bicarb with the ACV and voilla!
Happy alkalising!

Breast thermogram

I have just been categorised as a TH4 (high risk) on my breast thermogram and thought I would share my research as I go along.
Even if you are a low risk, I believe that you and your families can only benefit with the knowledge that I will be sharing with you. It is frightening once you start doing research to see how much there is out there that could potentially be harming us. I’m not suggesting that we make our lives a misery and stick flatly to avoid all the “baddies” at all costs, but firmly believe that when we make a choice at least let it be an informed one.
I thought I would simplify some of the things that you could start to look at with a view to preventing cancer and starting to make those lifestyle changes that will greatly benefit your families too.

LifeStyle changes

October is Breast Health Month

Here are a few tips on how to start with lifestyle changes to protect you and your family from potentially harmful influences.

Prevention  Starts  in  your  Everyday  Environments.
Here’s  how:
Tip 1: Protect yourself from the sun—and sunscreen
Sunscreens  often  contain  small  amounts  of  hormone-disrupting  chemicals  that  are
bad  for  us  and  aquatic  life.  Stay  out  of  the  sun  during  peak  hours,  cover  up  and  look
for  a  safer  sunblock  at www.safecosmetics.org/skindeep.
Tip 2: Make sure your water bottle is BPA-free
Avoid  toxic  bisphenol  A,  or  BPA,  which  is  in  polycarbonate  plastic  reusable  water
bottles,  and  kick  the  bottled-water  habit.  Instead,  get  a  non-toxic,  reusable  stainless
steel  bottle.
Tip 3: Avoid pesticides
It’s  no  surprise  that  weed  and  pest  killers  aren’t  good  for  humans,  either.  Look  for
non-toxic  alternatives  such  as  vinegar,  salt,  soapy  water  and  rubbing  alcohol.
Tip 4: Take caution with EMFs
Wireless  Internet  and  phone  networks  expose  us  to  very  low  levels  of  non-ionizing,
or  electromagnetic  field  (EMF),  radiation.  Health  risks  are  not  yet  well  understood,
but  it’s  good  to  take  precautions.  Keep  your  computer  in  “sleep”  mode  and  disable
your  wireless  network  when  not  in  use.  Don’t  keep  your  cell  phone  in  your  pocket,
use  a  headset  and,  when  possible,  text  instead  of  calling.

Prevention  starts  with  your  morning  routine.
Here’s  how:
Tip 1: Simplify
Some  beauty  products  contain  carcinogens  and  hormone-disrupting  chemicals.
Decrease  your  exposure  by  using  fewer  products  with  simpler  ingredients.
Tip 2: Avoid “fragrance”
“Fragrance”  can  contain  dozens,  even  hundreds,  of  chemicals—including  hormonedisrupting  phthalates.  Avoid  synthetic  fragrance  and  opt  for  products  that  are
fragrance-free  or  contain  natural  fragrances  like  essential  oils.
Tip 3: Ingredients to avoid
Avoid  products  with  DMDM  hydantoin  and  imidazolidinyl  urea;  parabens  or
any  word  ending  in  “-paraben”;  “PEG”  and  words  ending  in  “-eth”;  triclosan  and
triclocarban;  triethanolamine  (TEA);  hydroquinone  and  oxybenzone.
Tip 4: Products to avoid
Anti-aging  creams  with  lactic,  glycolic,  AHA  or  BHA  acids
Hair  dyes,  especially  dark  permanent  dyes
Nail  polish  and  removers  with  formaldehyde,  DBP  or  toluene
Skin  lighteners  with  hydroquinone

Prevention  starts  at  home.
 Here’s  how:
Tip 1: Avoid canned foods
The  lining  in  canned  foods  contains  toxic  bisphenol  A,  or  BPA,  which  leaches  into
food  and  then  into  us.  Choose  fresh  and  frozen  over  canned  foods.
Tip 2: Know your plastics
Avoid  plastics  that  contain  hormone-disrupting  phthalates,  especially  polyvinyl
chloride,  or  PVC  (usually  recycling  code  3).  Avoid  clear,  shatterproof  plastic  that
contains  BPA  (usually  code  7).  Safer  plastics  are  coded  1,  2,  4  and  5.  The  safest
options  are  stainless  steel,  glass  and  ceramic.
Tip 3: Keep plastic out of the microwave
Even  “microwave  safe”  plastic  can  leach  chemicals  into  your  food  when  heated,  so
choose  glass  or  ceramic  containers  and  cover  your  food  with  a  ceramic  plate  or  an
unbleached  paper  towel  instead  of  plastic  wrap.
Tip 4: Use non-toxic cleaning products
Many  cleaning  products  contain  harmful  chemicals.  Seek  out  non-toxic  alternatives
or  make  your  own.  Try  baking  soda  for  scouring  and  vinegar  for  cleaning  glass.
Tip 5: Eat hormone-free meat and dairy
Choose  hormone-free  beef  and  dairy  to  avoid  consuming  the  residue  of  livestock
growth  hormones.
